Penzance Vintage Bus Day - 19 April 2026
The Buses, Coaches and Routes
TV&GWOT, the Cornwall Bus Preservation Society and visiting participants gave free bus and coach rides all day on Sunday 19 April, taking in the delights of West Cornwall. Vehicle owners brought their carefully preserved vehicles spanning 60 years of history to Penzance where they were joined by state-of-the art modern buses. The day began with an impressive cavalcade of the buses and coaches processessing through the town after which passenger rides were given out and back the Bus Station all day. Details and a reflection on the proud history of First and predecessor companies in Cornwall over 97 years through to February 2026, were included in the Souvenir Programme together with a look to the future with Go-Cornwall Buses. A handful of programmes remain and can be purchased online, while stocks last, here.
The sun shone and a terrific day was enjoyed by everyone taking part.

The Bristol VR double-deck buses will return on 5 December 2026 for a special running to mark 20 years siince this dependable marque was finally withdrawn from the last bastion of VR operation in Cornwall.
The Penzance Vintage Bus Day will then return, as always on the third Sunday in April, on 18th April 2027 for another day out with free vintage bus services on a wide variety of buses and coaches around the West Cornwall peninsula.
