Penzance Vintage Bus Day - 19 April 2026
The Buses, Coaches and Routes
TV&GWOT and the Cornwall Bus Preservation Society warmly invite you to enjoy free bus and coach rides all day on Sunday 19 April, taking in the delights of West Cornwall. Vehicle owners are bringing their carefully preserved vehicles spanning 60 years of history to Penzance where they will be joined by state-of-the art modern buses. Souvenir Programmes can be purchased in advance here so you can plan your day.
The day will begin at 9.30 with an impressive cavalcade of the buses and coaches processessing through the town up Market Jew Street, past West Cornwall Hospital to Heamoor Roundabout, then back on the bypass to Penzance. Free passenger rides will depart from the Bus Station from 10am. (The temporary closure of Ross Bridge means the normal route round the harbour cannot be taken.)
Feeder services will run in to Penzance from St Ives and Camborne arriving in time for the cavalcade - timing details below.
An indication of the participating buses and coaches and routes is given here.
Further details, plus a reflection on the proud history of First and predecessor companies in Cornwall over 97 years through to February 2026, are included in the Souvenir Programme. We also look to the future with Go-Ahead and Transport for Cornwall. Programmes can be purchased from Sullivan's Diner opposite the Bus Station in Penzance from Friday 10th April or for postal delivery from our online shop
