Reading Runabout - 16 November 2025
The Buses and Routes

Thank you to vehicle owners, crews, volunteers and visitors for making our ‘Reading Runabout’ on 16th November such a success. It was a vintage bus day concluding our 2025 event season.  An invited selection of buses and coaches that once operated in the Reading area gave visitors a varied experience of bygone travel.

The event was centred on St Mary's Butts giving FREE services out and back to Tilehurst Triangle, Donkin Hill, Wokingham Road and the University campus. 

 

​​The Souvenir Programmes sold out on the day but the important news for the future is that the heritage buses will be back on Sunday 4th October 2026.  Then it will be 125 years since Reading Corporation took over the town's road transport services, a function it still provides through Reading Buses to this day.​​​

​

We hope that the buses that operated on 16.11.25 (see above and listed below) will return for the 2026 Reading event and other locally significant vehicles are also promised.  Further details will appear here as plans unfold.
