VR buses in Penzance - 5.12.26

Bristol VR type buses were once the mainstay of the double-deck fleet in the West County but were finally withdrawn from service in West Cornwall in December 2006. Many survive in preservation, testament to the vehicle design (pleasing drivers and passengers) and the role they played in daily life and holidays for so many.

20 years after the final send-off, VRs from that final day and others, will converge on Penzance Bus Station on Saturday 5 December to indulge in a day of VRs with free trips to Land's End, St Ives and Helston just as in 2006. Click here to find out more about plans for the day.

Souvenir programmes (available to purchase in advance) provide information on the Bristol VR bus heritage and their significance in the area, as well as giving details about those entered for 5 December plus timetables so you can plan yourday.
