Tavistock Vintage Bus Day

Hands up if you want to travel more than 50 years back in time by bus. Of course you do! So, pack a picnic and bring family and friends for a fun day and explore travel around Tavistock as it was in the late 1960s. For one day only, so bring your drawing pad or camera to capture memories of yesterday for tomorrow.

Souvenir Programmes including Timetables

Our souvenir programmes contain all the information you need to enjoy your day, particularly if this is your first vintage bus day experience.  We'll explain evertyhing so you know what to expect, how the day runs and even where to put the pushchair! There are details of the characters you'll meet in the bus station and the timing of vintage bus journeys out and back to destinations like Calstock (for ice cream) or Dartmeet (for a picnic).  Feature articles transport you back to the Tavistock scene in the late 1960s.  

Programmes can be purchased in advance online (£8 inc p&p) so you can find out more and plan your adventure or for £6 in Tavsitock Bus Station on the day.

Vehicle entries

For an authentic recreation of the Tavistock scene, vehicles are by invitation rather than open to general entries. So, if you have a former Western National bus that operated in Tavistock or a vehicle typical of marques that were there in the late 1960s, please email to express interest: events@tvagwot.org.uk
