Victoria Coach Station - VCS90 – year long
celebration
–
10 March / 17 June / 24 July / 24 September
To mark 90 years since VCS was
officially opened, a series of events is planned to
involve former and current staff, local residents,
passengers, vehicle enthusiasts, and everyone with
an interest in heritage transport. 10 March
– 90 years since the grand opening; 17 June –
mass coach departure at the start of the Royal Blue
Run; 24 July – multi-faceted bus running day
centred on VCS giving free trips; Date tbc –
24 September - a static display of vintage coaches in pole position
in the VCS departure bays. Coach entries are

Penzance VR Revival & Vintage Bus Running Day –
Sunday 17 April 2022
Since the ‘final’ VR running day on the marque’s .withdrawal from service in December 2006, TV&GWOT
and the Cornwall Bus Preservation Society have
revived services around the spectacular West
Cornwall peninsula each spring with a vintage bus
running day. Free passenger rides were given again on Easter
Sunday 2022. Then on Easter Monday, entrants and
volunteers were rewarded with an excursion from
Penzance to St Ives, St Just, Sennen Cove and Land's

Didcot Transport Rally & Vintage Bus Running Day –
Sunday 22 May 2022
TV&GWOT’s fifth event in collaboration with the
Great Western Society combined free vintage bus
rides on former Great Western Road Motors routes,
with an extensive static transport rally and opportunities to
visit the railway centre with locomotives in steam.
There was a interesting mix of buses and coaches on
static display and in service. Find out

Royal Blue Run – Friday 17 June to Sunday 19 June
2022
In its 21st year, the Royal Blue & Associated
Motorways vintage coach run traced yet more
unexplored routes from the coaching network. The
mass departure from Victoria Coach Station formed
part of the VCS 90th anniversary celebration. A
combination of joint Royal Blue/ Greyhound,
Associated Motorways, Elliott Bros era, and Tourist
(later Royal Blue) routes took coaches on a
tour through Middlesex, Buckinghamshire,
Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire,
Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Surrey, and
Berkshire. |

Kingsbridge 7’6” Vintage Bus Running Day – 17
September 2022
This is now the 15th year that vintage buses and
coaches have converged on Kingsbridge and its small
but perfectly formed bus station on the Quay. The
running day is a reminder of the value of public
transport to rural and coastal communities and a
treat for all those enjoying the free rides. The
services unlock hidden gems of the South Hams to
passengers and crews alike. Vehicle entries are
invited
here. There will be an excursion on the Sunday
for entrants and volunteers. |
